Course Topic Section - Networking

At the starting of the year my computer (# 12) had a wireless card installed (as seen in the picture) but connecting to the networks would not work.  I found out after looking through the device manager that the drivers for the wireless card were not installed at all, so even though the hardware (wireless card itself) was installed it would still not work.
The next day I asked for the CD with the drivers on it, so I could install them onto my computer.  After putting the CD in and installing the drivers, the wireless card was now able to connect to the network.  I learned through this experience that even though you install the hardware of something it will not work until its corresponding software was installed with it.
This specific task I completed is relevant to me because while I am at home, no one else really knows anything about networking.  When there is a network problem I am usually asked to help about it, and this experience in class only helped me be more confident when dealing with network issues.
